Vickery Place Conservation District Expansion

  • City Council Public Hearing - January 10, 2007

On Wednesday January 10, 2007, the Dallas City Council voted unanimously to approve the Expansion of the Vickery
Place Conservation District! Of those neighbors that chose to return their official ‘reply form’ prior to the City Council hearing, 83% marked that they were in favor of the expansion.

  • City Plan Commission Public Hearing - October 26, 2006

On Thursday, October 26 2006, the City Plan Commission heard the zoning case for the Vickery Place Conservation District Expansion, which would include blocks: 5400 & 5500 Bonita, 5100, 5200, 5500 & 5600 Goodwin, 5200 & 5600 Miller, 5200 Richard, 5200 Vickery, and 5200, 5500, & 5600 Willis.  If passed these blocks would be incorporated into and assume the same guidelines and protection as the Vickery Place Conservation District.

After receiving 83% of the reply forms "In Favor" of this zoning change, the City Plan Commission voted UNANIMOUSLY to forward this onto the City Council for final approval!

  • City Council Public Hearing - June 28, 2006

On June 28, 2006, the proposed Vickery Place Conservation District passed City Council UNANIMOUSLY! We are now the 15th Conservation District in the City of Dallas.

On June 1 2006, the City Plan Commission voted 12-1 in favor of the proposed Conservation District zoning change, which will now be forwarded onto City Council.

Feasibility Study Survey

 

Conservation Districts typically change basic zoning standards to reflect the current conditions of the neighborhood's built environment.  Additional standards that are not regulated through base zoning but are unique to the area can also be incorporated in a Conservation District.
