Expanded Neighborhood Patrol (ENP) is a program that hires off-duty Dallas Police Officers to patrol our neighborhood.  It has been a successful crime prevention tool in many Dallas neighborhoods, including Greenland Hills, Cochran Heights, Hollywood /Santa Monica, Munger Place, Forest Hills and now Vickery Place.  Its purpose is to raise police presence, reduce crime, improve communication, and educate residents.

Our patrol officers will become experts on our neighborhood, able to recognize suspicious activity or related crimes--sort of like the old fashioned "beat officers".   With the data terminal onboard the police car, officers are able to check instantly for stolen vehicles and for warrants on suspicious people.   You will get a response within seconds of your 911 calls when an ENP officer is on duty.

Planning a vacation this summer?  ENP officers will check the premise of your home while you are gone.  You will also receive periodic Crime Alert emails/phone calls via our Crime Watch network.

Unlike many neighborhood associations, VPNA has no dues requirements--you are a member of the association just by living in the neighborhood. So, in order to cover the  additional expenses related to the ENP program, the fee for those who join will be $200 per year, from January to December or $100 for 6 months.  Anyone who lives in Vickery Place can participate, whether you rent or own.

ENP will be even more effective if more neighborhood residents were a part of the solution. The more neighbors that join, the more patrol hours we can have each week.

To join, simply fill out the Crime Watch Dues Form and mail it back along with a check (payable to VPNA).  You can also bring it to the next General Meeting or give it to your designated block captain.

If you would like more information or are interested in becoming a Crime Watch Block Captain for your block, please email info@vpna.org.
